I literally hate everyone who has said some version of “oh Valencia is such a great band, why aren’t they bigger” but then NEVER did anything real to support them like going to shows, buying merch/cds, etc etc because you are part of the reason why this band had to struggle. you all suck.
Yeah I got to thinking. I’ve seen Valencia play small shows where no one knew them. I’ve seen Valencia play HEADLINERS to no more than 25 people. Yet, the Electric Factory, a 2300 cap venue, was sold out on Wednesday. And I understand a lot of people came from all over the country for this show, BUT WHERE WERE YOU WHEN VALENCIA NEEDED YOU MOST (pun intended). Like where were these people when Valencia was barely selling 50 tickets a show. Where were you to support them and love them when they still actually had the drive to want to continue as a band and try to make it work. Why are all these message boards on absolutepunk and whatnot suddenly bursting with love for Valencia? Why are they suddenly mourned so badly? I wanted to get on the stage and scream WHO THE FUCK ARE ALL YOU PEOPLE?
